please be aware that the parking charges at pearson airport is $3 for every 20 mins with no max daily limit, yesterday I had parked for around 2.5hrs and I got a shocker bill for $21

That is what you get for living in a world class city and taht is why people flock here.
if you were wise,
1. you would have parked outside and walked to the airport
2. Parked at Kipling and taken the bus
3. parked near the terminal on the road (many do that) and wait for the phone call indicating the column that your visitors are waiting (c-32) and then go and pick them up.
4. Park and fly service where rates are 1/2 of what you paid (there is free shuttle bus)
Better luck next time. In Canada you always have to visit the place you intend to the previous day and ascertain the facts. One tip is to use the Tim Hortons in the airport (fre shuttle from terminal to terminal) as the rates are the same as outside.

Why it is a shocker? Rates are posted there at parking garage. I have parked number of times for drop off (not pickup) and paid over $20. It is $vs. convinence. I also do not expect my mother to check in by her self so I have to pay the price.
You are complaining of this. I was at Service Canada office in Mississauga. There used to be free parking until few months ago. Yesterday, I saw parking metres there. Service Canada expects people to come to their office to file Ei and pay for the parking at well. Interesting?
