Dear Mishtar India and Biomed,

100% True. and Great post.

India is India. Its not comparable things. We should do something to improve our Country instead of everytime blaming.

You cannot improve if you do not compare. You cannot make positive if you did not know what is negative.

Yes.. you are right .. thats why I always say Identify and accept –ves of Canada, than only you can work hard to make them +ve.

And still I say you can not compare India and Canada…. If you want to compare Canada ..compare with West European Countries, Singapore, Japan,Australia and New Zealand… in that case at least you will have something to compare :D

Thanks and regards.
Biomed

Hi Smiley,

Comparison is necessary when you dont know about yours nagative. In case of India, we all know whats the weaker side of India.

India is weak because of our "Indian People" and their mentality, Which include you and me too.

dsd,
what if u loose ur job, are u prepared to go back home or no. if no then canada/new zealand/australia are options. like many do take their PR and go back as long as they can work in the middle east. dsd i was in dubai for 3 1/2 years earned much more than u did there but now in canada, no regret tought life initially though but everything falls in place. it all depends the way you look at it.

S'up Deep, looks like you kinda changed your tune after my posting where I claimed I made over Rs 100,000 in India workin for Birla and yet came here to slum it out.

For your info, in Mumbai there are certain circles of society where life is more westernized than in Canada. There are tons of restaurants where continental food is served, tons of bars where English music is played(my favorite was "The Library" at the President Hotel- but there are many), where people discuss foreign current affairs rather than Indian ones- where there are parties where both male and female strippers do their thing, partner swappin , coke sniffin, crack smokin, etc etc. and on and on.
Toronto is tame in comparison- though I hear Montreal rocks!

Last night I was at a party where MBAs from all over the world had gathered . There were those from the Philipines, China, S. Korea, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Ukraine, Israel, Bulgaria, Romania all making a lot more than the average in their countries of origin but all came here to make more. Some had accomplished their goal- those who have been here 4 years or more- and those who have been here less can see it happen within 4-5 years of their arrival. In absoute terms there are making more than in their country but I am talking about PPP (purchasing power parity). Also there are the perks of a cleaner environment and the chance to shake hands with Bill Clinton as an ordinary Joe. Actually that was a big topic last evening as many had lined up from the night before to shake Clinton's hands(no matter where they have strayed).

Well there are all types. I for one look out for achievers and hang out with them so I can learn how to get to new heights. Last night's networkin' was exhilarating to say the least. Pumps me up even more to go go go!

I don't know what you mean by better job. Is it in terms of status or money?

The originator of this thread has vanished into thin air ! It must be their idea of fun to surf the net, find a board, ask a question, and then never return back to see.
