Whether the euphoria comes down or goes further , soon time will tell ... Who knows it may be the start of the wave which may cleanse India in times to come ... and though wishful thinking may make India we all aspire it to be ...
One thing is for sure - this is the burning topic / discussion in India today .. when ever a movement takes place , there is criticism against it ... whether it sustains and becomes future is a tussle decided by time .

Fido.
Guys,
The BJP ruled states have never implemented FDI in retails. Many other states including some Congress ruled also haven't implemented it.
What Kejri did is a good thing, but he is not the first one to do so.

I hear you Nightmare and do not despise your posts . They give me a chance and awareness to analyze AK on those points .... however could you be slightly soft and avoid name calling like AAP tards and all as that kind of refers as a personal attack ... and makes the post lose its value and reach.

If they let FDI into retail sector, India will soon look like Brazil! with Indian retailers holding the bags for the foreigners! Indian reluctance and regulatory posturing when it came to FDI, recently garnered the wrath of many senators! The anger on the Hill in DC was so strong, we thought US may open a warfront against India and conquer the markets there by force. If the ppl in India are stupid enough to let these US desires take life, soon India will be serving as a doormat for the Yanks to scrub their shoes.
Look at what Walmart did to small retailers in the US/Canada. There used to be many mom and pop shops and now they are marginalized by such giant killers. Because of economics of scale they are not going to generate the employment they have demolished in the process. Also as their supply chain is going to have less nodes, on the way it is also eliminating employment.
As a consumer we can enjoy the fruits of getting things cheaper, but that is at the cost of so many people being fed by existing supply chain and small retainers.

In a country like India where we have abandon human resources, the policies in general should be towards utilizing it as much as possible. Un-employment will cause other issues in the society. It was envisioned by Gandhi Ji (real one) but the current policy makers don’t see it. It could be because of their personal vested interests.
Anyway, it is a good start and other states, who favored the FDI, may re-think about it. It is good to follow a better policy irrespective of who promoted it.
