Well, Punjab has the distinction of being the highest female foeticide rates in the country. I am not aware of the present situation though. It has been known for at least 9-10 years and even in the media for a few times. However, politicians and judiciary is mute.

The epidemic is so severe that it has been exported here in Canada to some extent. I know for sure that the authorites have even stopped the gender disclosure in all the clinics/hospitals in Surrey, BC. Guess what, Surrey has the largest concentration of South Asians in BC.

I really hope this episode makes people aware and the authorities take severe action against the Doctors and Clinics that are wrongfully practicing this menace.

On the episode of medical practitioners, too more indepth facts were expected, the topic he dealt upon are no surprises for the urban crowd, the irregularities at the governing body MCI if more was revealed, it would definitely invoke some immediate actions.
