How do you know what happened ??? Or what makes you feel that what you think is right ???? Sorry but your post is totally out of context with what happened since you are ASSUMING that I deliberately parked in that spot.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

You missed the point -

a. I am licensed to drive with vision glasses ... w/o that I m not licensed since they do not find my eye sight fit enough to drive ......... So rather than endangering anyone's life I chose to park at the first available spot .

b. The fact that I was not able to see clearly plus a bigger fact that the sign was not on the floor as they have in mall parking but at an overhead sign did not make me look for it ......... I somehow got a receipt and put it on the dashboard ...... Some where they put the sign on the floor , somewhere on over head signs ....... can't a person who visits down town occasionally be unaware / confused ?

c. Not able to see clearly , not able to drive clearly because of loss of an eye glass --- is that not a valid reason ? ...

Anyways -- I ve started keeping a spare pair in the car now .... but 450/- is too much especially when it was neither deliberate nor intentional ...... I DO NOT park in disabled spots ....

It was not a disabled parking spot --- but a disabled loading / un loading spot ....

I wish other CD s be aware of this as well ... in case this is a new sign for them ....

All I require is one bloody slot in disabled parking to park my car and that is mostly occupied by healthy people driving car. So mant times I have seen these people come , park, jump out of car to buy pizza or ATM. I am disabled ( no leg) and can not walk properly. Walking is a punishment for me and everyday I am made to walk by people who park their cars in disabled parking. The police dont do much in private parking, they are only focused on public parking. So, rather then cribbing everyday I am going to write to PM.

I drive and drive everyday. It is not that I am not aware of position. I dont agree to that people park in disabled parking by mistake. They love to do that. They must be feeling proud by doing that. No one gets G2 or G without knowing that what signs are put in disabled parking, they are on road as well as infront of parking spot and the places where you visit frequently , you know where is disabled parking. By the size of space between the lines you can make out it is disabled parking.

Fido : I am sorry, I misunderstood that you parked in disabled parking.

Probably not, as I think the onus is on you to prove the validity of your reasoning. How would you go about proving that? Was there any witness or video recording of what happened? If not, like another poster mentioned, logically your best bet is to show some proof showing lack of proper signs or blockage. I dont have experince in fighting ticketc....try this link http://www.ticketcombat.com/parking/parking.php

Good luck

You must write to PM.:) I think after careful consideration of your story he may sympathise you and take very positive action.

I paid 3 parking tickets in last 1 year. First one at my apartment's visitor parking lot. I left the car overnight and got a ticket. I didn't feel much because I left the car whole night. But other tickets felt like a pain. Its in Byward market ottawa and downtown toronto. I am just 5 min late after expiry. 30$ for 5 min late is irritating.. 450$ is quite disturbing.. Sorry to hear that.

Dude,

As per your previous posts, you have been in your 30s and you have been in Canada for atleast 5 years.. and you recently got your G license. In all this proves that you are a 'slow mo'. Accept the fact and live with it. Stop making stupid (hilarious) excuses about eye glasses.

Either pay the fine or shun your recently got license.. simple.

Folks ,

I seem to have received the parking ticket jackpot ..... $450/- for parking in a Disabled Loading / Unloading Area !!

Was in Down Town ..College / Spadina ... one of my glasses from my eyeglasses came off .... and I thought it safest to park and get them done ... I found a parking spot , parked and put a parking receipt on the dashboard as well ....

When I returned , I found the parking ticket for $450/- .... There was no sign on the road as they have in malls / parking lot and the Parking sign overhead said 'Disabled Loading / Unloading ' ........ there were other cars also parked in front and behind and it appeared that this was the only ' disabled loading / unloading ' spot ..

Now what do I do after applying for an appeal .??? ... I was not aware that it was a Disabled Loading / Unloading area and for two , I was myself disabled temporarily at that time :) ...

Learnt that the fine for the this increased from $150 to $450 in 2008 only ...

Appreciate suggestions & advice as always ...
