Are there any East Indian pockets in Mississauga? - I mean Punjabi's. My mom and my in laws will live with and I want them to feel a bit at home.
I have just moved from Vancouver and I need to be centrally located as I do not drive + I also want good schools.
Experts please help !
thank you
North East Mississauga (McLaughlin / Derry ) intersection. 407 is just about 5 minutes walk from there and Brampton starts from 407 onwards.
You got a huge Gurudwara and I see people walking around who appear to be Punjabis. I am pretty sure you would feel comfortable with that area.

thanks a lot for your response. Looks like the area you suggested has many Punjabi which is good for my In-Laws. Now the question is does the area have good schools. How do I check that out ?
Any suggestions ?
The Derry West village school is good.
Unfortunately, I do not have much information about the schools in Brampton.
Also, the cost of houses aren't cheap, My friends who were looking for houses shared with me that the houses were actually pricey compared to other areas. Perhaps, it is a new area (10 years) and proximity to highway(s).

The whole thrust of CMHC insurance is to encourage banks to make riskier loans. Normal insurance provisions are based on actuarial principles. CMHC insurance is based — like the activities of Fannie and Freddie — on promoting home ownership. Mixing social and economic objectives usually ends in taxpayer tears.

Canada's housing market is in a bubble that's set to burst and prices could plunge by as much as 25 per cent, a major independent research firm warns.
“Housing valuations have lost all touch with fundamentals and household debt is at a record high,” economists at the economic research consultancy Capital Economics say in their most recent Canada Economic Outlook, issued Wednesday.

How long can we stay different? That is a big Q.
I have few questions regarding this predications.
1. Is this pricing dip for new housing market or resale housing market? can somebody clerify it ? Because new house prices in GTA are skyrocketing.
2. First time buyer shoud wait for this to happen or not?
Thanks a lot
