Hello,
I m in the market to buy house. I want to know is there any website or any source from where that we can know the neighbour hood price so we can compare the house price?

- Another question about HST.. I know that it is going to be in effect from July 10 so is it going to affect the price for less than 400k?
- What are the most important things you want to know before buying house?

HST IS GOING TO AFFECT PRICE MORE THAN 400000$ FOR NEW HOME BUYERS,
IT'S NOT GOING TO AFFECT RE-SALE HOME BUYERS,
FOR START BUYING HOME BETTER WAY TO CONTACT REAL ESTATE AGENT,
THERE IS SOME AGENET IN MARKET THEY ALSO CAN GET YOU BEST MORTGAGE RATE LIKE 5 YEARS FIXED 3.45% & VARIBALE PRIME-0.50,
SO YOU WILL HOME WITH BETTER RATE,
PM ME IF YOU NEED MORE INFO,
THANKS,

I heard that Realor helps to find a good house but again, they do charge 3% or so commision so that increase the price of a house too.

Now I have one more question, if we get a mortgage and we decide to pay early so is do the banks still charge full interests or just small penalty?

Thank you for your reply

1. Buyers do not pay any commission (in most cases), the seller's agent shares the commission with the buyer's agent. Also IMO, when investing approx $300K (average price for SFH today), the agent commission is a wiser expense, if you are receiving expert advice and guidance.

2. Regarding mortgage repayment, all charges depend upon the conditions of the mortgage product you buy.

There is no harm in consulting 2-3 agents (real estate as well as mortgage) to get your doubts clarified. This will give you more insight about the buying process and also help select the correct agent based on your initial and/or subsequent discussions.

Good luck.
