What about the rights of the innocent victims of genocide of 9/11, 26/11, London bombings, Madrid bombings and many more?

The government is here to protect innocent victims.

Guests in a country do not have any rights. The only right they have is human rights. I don't think that was violated. Americans have all rights to protect their country at any cost. They have done so by violating humans rights too. Khan should thank them that his human rights were not violated.

I think the point is completely lost. It has nothing to do with SRK. It’s the behaviour of the immigration agent. I have gone thru the immigration staff at both Canadian and Mexican borders. They think that they are demi gods, even before the 9/11. Does it come down to the discretion of the immigration agent, given his exposure to outside world, not allow a visitor citing “security concerns”? Were they sleeping when Tim McVeigh was getting ready to bomb the govt building? Threats come from inside the country too, not only from outside as they claim. And why people are blaming SRK that it’s a publicity stunt? At least he voiced his concern. Others mutely receive the crap given by the immigration staff at the airports.

Plain and simple - YES.

What is not allowed is for the primary inspector to make the decision. That is why a secondary inspection is setup where the ultimate decision about the person entering the US is made. I say person because it could involve citizens and non-citizens alike (they wouldn't deny entry to US citizens, of course).

Also, recall the Brit MP who was denied entry to Canada? Similar reasons....security concern, spreading hate, etc, etc.

And yet, in my experience of crossing the border everyday for 7 yrs and counting, I have only seen utmost professionalism. Mostly they are curt but there are plenty that are very friendly.

They are not perfect. Or else, there wouldn't be 12 million illegals in the US. They have a difficult job considering the limited manpower and very high expectation to prevent and contain threats.

As far as I am concerned, SRK's concern has no merit since, as some one else stated, numerous muslims (khan and otherwise) do enter and leave US with no issues. When someone enters secondary, it does take time. Again, from my experience at secondary, it has taken as short as 10 minutes and as long as an hour, mostly answering simple questions and waiting idly while they review the history.

The so called "crap" is not a unique thing. Most countries do have them in the event of a suspicion. In 2005, I was pulled over to secondary every time I crossed the Czech-Polish border by road. Reason, I did not have a EU passport, hence the scrutiny.

I was sent to secondary when I entered poland from Germany because of my own stupidity when, upon inquiry of stay, I gave them the list of hotels I intended to stay, only that, those hotels were in Czech and not in Poland. Ended up inside for an hour. Crap, eh?

This over-reaction by Indian Media and Khan-fans is just within Indian Walls. Who in Washington cares?

Agreed. Even SRK must have gotten over it by this time, hopefully. And lets close this on this board. To be honest, I did not expect so much discussion.
