I worked on my net yday and closed it.
Later when I started, internet could not be conencted. I called tech and they confirmed there is no issue with my internet but they said it was an issue with my browser.
I am not sure what caused it but what I did in my first session on net was deleted few shortcut icons from start up. Computer was taking long time to start so I thought may be lot of programs start during start up, so let me delete few....I went to start button on bottom left, then programs, then start up and deleted few shortcuts ........can not remember all but Adobe, picture package etc.
Could this be reason ? If so, how to fix it ? If not, what else can be reason and how to fix it ?
Thankyou for your suggestions.

What browser are you using? If the ping works, issue could be related to firewall or any online protection software (ZoneAlarm, Norton online from Rogers etc.).
Thankyou Patrick and Viggy, will try this and post the result soon.
If Ping does not work and if you still want to varify ...
Go to Command Prompt by "Start" --> "Run" --> Type cmd & Hit "OK"
At Prompt Type ipconfig /all & Hit Enter
Note Down the DNS Servers: x.x.x.x
At Prompt Type nslookup & Hit Enter
You probably will get
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds
(If you don't get this - your connection is fine)
At 'nslookup' prompt type server 4.2.2.2 & Hit Enter
> server 4.2.2.2
If your Internet Connection is alive then you;ll get
Default Server: vnsc-bak.sys.gtei.net
Address: 4.2.2.2
otherwise same error DNS request timed out

Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
I checked and Internet connectivity is fine.
How to resolve other issues ? Browser, firewall, antivirus, etc. ?
Quote:Disable anti-virus and firewall.
