Patience and perseverence surely pays off.

Lucky for you, it came just in time. Enjoy the fruits of labor.

Good Going Cool Girl !

And thanks for sharing the information . When I browsed for this number I came to a very long thread on Red Flag Deals informing that this is Rogers Retention Center number .

In my case I have placed an order with Teksavvy through their agent website 2239.ca ..Since my usage is very less , I have currently opted for the 6mbps / 75 Gb plan for $25/ month plus $65/- activation fee .

The Agent 2239.ca offered me a free modem which can be used only with 6mbps plan and only through the agent as the same modem is otherwise not approved.

The activation is by this weekend .... I am currently getting 5mbps down and 665kbps up from BELL DSL and satisfied with that ..If however I feel this to be less , I shall keep my options open .

Thanks Full House and Fido!

This morning the internet was down (which is rare with rogers) so I called Rogers and I was told that there it was down in the whole area and they are working on it. While talking to the agent we happened to talk about the modem. I asked if I can get my modem upgraded.... he transferred me to someone (i think customer care)...the guy asked few questions and approved the upgraded modem which is usually higher rental then the one I am using now at no extra cost.
I am very happy. I am getting 35 mbps /120 gb @ $38.41 (Upgraded modem rental and taxes included).

I am with Rogers (basically robbers) for internet and the promotion period expired recently. The internet cost jumped to $ 63 + tax including wireless modem. Called START this morning and got their offer of $ 45 + tax with regular modem. Later called Rogers to disconnect their services and the CSR offered to beat START rate and agreed to continue my existing service for $ 47 including wireless modem and tax. This offer is even better than START. Only downside is that I have to mark my calendar to call Rogers again after one year when this offer will expire.

Whether it is car insurance or cable service, one should shop around otherwise these companies are ready to rob you.

Hope someone will come up with an APP to track the expiration of these services and suggest for competitors.

Let me relate my update also .

So I went & ordered Teksavvy 6mbps cable line for $25 / month ( 75gb ).

Rogers technician came and very uncooperative activated the line ..He simply activated the line from the hub and crimped and connected the cable ..Was not ready to let me test the modem however when I insisted that he show me the signal reading , he connected the modem I had for from 2239.ca for free and showed me internet on his machine.

After he left I took out a 6 year old router connected it to the modem , configured it and checked the speed as 6mbps down and .25mb up ... same as advertised .

I am since very happy as Bell had started billing me $43 pm for 5mbps , 45 gb .. I have got a better , cheaper deal now and have also supported an honest and upfront company which is forcing Rogers / Bell to reduce their prices .

Very happy with Teksavvy & Wind ..They offer real & fair competition .
