Is it good to bring laptop from India or should I buy it here?
here it might be a sticker shock.. if you wanna compare.. check dell.ca or hp.ca and check out price for config you want.. My guess is taxes are going to high here..
When I checked beginning of this yr prices were better in Canada even after taxes. And Dell always has deals going where you can get prices knocked. I think you can get a very decent laptop for around $1000 CAD and poewrful one for $1300, incl taxes. Check around if you can get something like that for the same price in India.
Also, warranty is something to consider - do you get global warranties in India?
One does get international warranties in India as well. Not on all models though. One has to check up with the vendor.
Having been in both countries, the models available are different though. Check up websites of companies like HP, etc. for Canada & India so that you can compare.
Also visit websites like http://www.bestbuy.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.futureshop.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.staples.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK to get an idea of the configurations as well.
Rgds.

Let's make India a better place !
If the prices are even in the similar range.. buy it here! Unless you have use for it between now and landing..
i would say bring it..............whats the harm. Meanwhile u can take ur time looking for a good one for the right price, that way ur not in a rush to buy but forget to buy a good one.
