I am in the market for a new laptop.

How does this look?

The laptop is for home use or may be when we travel - to surf, email, photos, music, basic stuff.

How is tigerdirect? Any experiences with Lenovo? Any other suggestions?

I would have gone for this , had I been looking for one . Lenovo , 15.4" screen , Tiger Direct and the configuration -- all are good .

However , if your requirement is just to browse internet , basic computing and might consider a refurbished product , you can get Dell / Toshiba laptops for CAD 299/- .. Check out Factorydirect.ca ......... I would have gone for these as well ......

I usually do not like to buy used / refurbished stuff. But at $299 I may buy one to take it as a gift to India.
