Hi!
I am sorry to write in the "Immigration expert"'s column but i wanted to clear some misconceptions expressed in this thread which might confuse the original poster.
There is absolutely no need to worry about immigrating to Canada. As long as the flight allows you to be boarded (they donot allow it in case of latter stages of pregnancy like the 8th month etc..), you are free to come to Canada on a PR visa valid just for yourself, while you are pregnant. You are NOT Allowed inside Canada/ NOT allowed to board the aircraft only if the child is delivered in India before the mother becomes a PR and tries to bring the child/Infant to Canada on a PR Visa issued to the mother.
Once in Canada, You are allowed to deliver the child/ get yourself admitted in the hospital for delivery , irrespective of if the child's father is present or not. However this is subject to you fulfilling the "Mandatory waiting period" (In Ontario , you will have to wait for 3 months before Canadian Universal Healthcare sets in. In some provinces (e.g-Alberta, there is no waiting period).
Donot worry about this and concentrate on your immigration and other issues.
All the best for your Immigration, Baby and Marriage.

Do not worry. Once you are in Canada, there are many government agencies that help women in your situation. Soon as you are here, contact the imigrant women center in your area. Look them up on the website or check toronto.com for leads. Good luck.
