How do u guys manage the snow with young children falling under the walk zone of the school in the area??
How do u get shopping etc done with knee deep snow all around without a car??
How do you even walk around in the snow if you are third trimester pregnant??
Is it possible to avail snow clearing or pathway clearing from your door at a minimum price?
Do townhouses (attached) offer maintenance services??

Please if anyone can shed light on Living in Calgary also if and when pregnant - i would greatly appreciate it - challenges faced with 7 yr old n below kids.......
I need advise to get me through this.....anyone?

Well, most desi people here have normal functional families, so I am not sure how people manage like that.

What happened to the idiot that slept with you, made you pregnant and now left you to fend off on your own in Calgary snow?

So you mean to say men can sleep around with women of his choice make them pregnant and leave other tax payers to support?

No one is humiliating this lady. Being single mom is quite common among non-desi folks. Infact in Canada we can gay/lesbian couples with kids.

I am talking about the father of the kids. Doesn't he have a responsibility in supporting his kids?

Well Brown Bear,
You canot speak like this, being in Canada. In Canada everyone is treated with respect and without hurting anyone's feelings. You canot bring your desi mentality here.
Please apologize.
Peace

oh dear -- i wish i can delete this post --- my husband's working abroad and i was wondering if i could manage this by my self ---- my above post was a tiny panic attack i thought i could scream out in here --- Im so sorry for depicting a wrong picture and I dint feel comfortable reading the reply as well.
I was just concerned about the snow there the shovelling i'd have to do if i was in a town house
the place i saw said : 'Well maintained building, landscaped ' ---- would that include clearing the pathway of any snow everyday upto my door?
I was hoping for someone to share their experience in calgary when they or their wife was pregnant and they din't have a car..... so if there is any useful insight you can give me then i'd welcome that - anything at all - anything postive would help - if not then :\
A big Thank you to the above posters Santoshi and Tamilkuravan to come to my support

Hamzay,
Thanks for the clarification.
Snow clearing is no big deal esp. for stay at home moms who can clear little bit at a time. Only if the show hardens, it will be difficult for your to break the snow and shove it out.
Just put lots of salt, before and after the snow fall and it will melt like snow.
Any town house which has a maintenace fee attached to it (paid by your owner) will have snow cleared right up to the door step, so donot worry.
In Canada, if you have money, you can live like a queen. People will do everything there for little money in recession time. If you pay like $ 20 an hour, you can get all your job done by a handy person.
Cabs will come to your door step at a telephone call. People will deliver stuff to your door step for a small fee so donot worry. Again baby sitters for like $ 25 an hour can be found very easily.
Only bad stuff is the wait at the hospital emergency room or clinics. Now for this no amount of money can help you, as the Canadian rules are this way.

Now for Brown Bear -> Please cover your face with shame. Even if the OP was a single mom, you should not comment without knowing the situation / background. It is easy to judge but difficult to be judged.
Peace
