It is Bitter truth for many of fellow Indians (for that case fellow immigrants). This site is not to discourage you, but to prepare you before you land here. I know, but believe me ... it won't be that difficult, when you are all prepared.

Now you have this website and the views to use in your plans and dreams. But 2-3-4 years back people were coming here with just one obstacle in mind ... SNOW. Which in case is not that hard.

I know, some views do sound very harsh for new comers. But those guys are still here, and trying to help others ... so that you dont land in dark.

We have been taught LIFE IS A CHALLENGE ... MEET IT ........
I would rephrase it for people already here ... AS YOU HAVE MET IT ... ACCEPT IT AS A CHALLENEGE. :)

Don't loose your heart, everybody finds the way out in a year or two. Either they land up with good jobs/business or they get used to it. I an Any case, smiles :) and mugs will be back

mumbaiteguy,
You just ignore everything you read here. You are going to land a plum job and earn atleast 120K$ within the first few days. I can say just by your attitude that you are going to do exceedingly well here. **Especially since attentively following what others are trying to convey is one of your other sterling attributes.**
Everything that your consultant promised is going to be true too. Once that happens just pop in back here to remind us again, the losers that we are, how wrong we have all been.

Jake that is funny...even tho i am also a "to be" immigrant and in same category as mumbaiteguy...it still cracks me up:D

i think most "to be" immigrants prefer to stay in denial to the facts of real canada ...i was the same way in beginning...maybe bacause after filing the application a person just pins all future hopes and aspirations to migrating to canada and after 2-3 yrs of canada dreaming when the facts come to bite ..they all just go numb and prefer to stay in denial.

but there is a positive sideto it too ... a person when he comes after uprooting himself from home country ... positive thinking and hopes for future are the only things he will hang on to while he struggles in the initial few years...and at that time should ideally be in a positve mode to take it all in stride ... otherwise too much negative thinking will just break him and make it even more difficult to succeed

but what will definately be a disaster to any new comes is the "atttitute"
of not listening and learning from others experience

Good luck to all !!:)

Ok. maybe there is something I can learn from this.
In our zeal to get people prepared some of us may end up sounding discouraging. As a potential immigrant Mishtar,or even you mumbaite guy, what would you expect to hear from the people on this site who have already gone through or know others who are going through the difficulties in finding a job of their likeing. Is there anyway we can be of help and warn you without sounding discouraging (which is definitely not the intent)?

Bullseye, Jake. I think we need to get suggestions from Mumbaiteguy and others as to how these facts can be presented in a manner that does not make them sound so depressing. You and I both know full well that the potrayal of Canada as some sort of a hellhole is highly inaccurate, however that is the impression some people are getting. I can only imagine what it must be like for someone who has waited for 2/3 long years for their visa and now is about to get it. I'm sure along with the apprehension there would be a lot of excitement as well. And although not in the best words, I guess what Mumbaite is trying to say that we're killing all the excitement and replacing everything with apprehension.

So Mumbaite, the ball is in your court. Make some suggestions instead of calling people names.

I am not a immigrant .............
I am just a International undergraduate student in canada ......

Initially I used to dream of working in canada after studies......
Now , after I came across this website , I am shattered :(
I just wanna finish studies n go back home
