Hi all,
I'm a big Foodie and I started a Food & Travel blog this year <link removed.>. It's not perfect yet, I plan to add a lot of other features. So don't judge it already
So I googled about getting traffic to blogs and started implementing the tips by writing few reviews on my blog and Zomato (India). I commented on a few blogs leaving my blog link. I also created an FB page and advertised (recieved free Ad credits with my domain). This fetched me around 2000 plus liked on FB.
I recently added Google Adsense and ads are up on my site too. However, it's no use until I have enough viewers visiting my website. Most of the posts I add on FB are seen by hardly 50 to 350 people which results in maybe 5 or 10 clicks to the website.
My questions are:
1. How to build a huge visitor base?
2. How can I make money blogging? Adsense doesn't help much for low visitor count.
Hope the site owner GarvoGujarati or site admins reply as they might have first-hand experience on this
I'm looking forward to start reviewing Toronto restaurants soon!
Thanks,
Edit: I understand you wish to promote your blog/website, unfortunately that is not permitted in charcha. I hope some webmasters will be able to guide you. Good luck

Thanks booradleysmart!
Affiliate marketing doesn't help too unless we build traffic. And yes I have implemented SEO. Maybe it's too early coz I've barely started the blog a year ago and there is not much content in it yet. Will keep trying.
Thanks,

I am not an expert in online/web traffic marketing, but the purpose of increasing site visits can also be achieved by cross advertising. I am not sure what your passion is - cooking, eating, visiting or blogging - try to build a niche in anyone and market that niche, it should help to bring traffic.
For e.g. - blogging is your passion, increase the subjects of your blogs and invoke articles/references from other famous bloggers or websites in your blog with popular key word combinations. Send a link to your blog to those you have referred to in your blog (hopefully your comments are complementary) and request them to mention your blog in their references.
If your passion is cooking and receipes - try more often, invite reporters and other bloggers for tasting/testing, submit them for contests, publish them on popular magazines/sites that offer the space etc.. in short market the receipes - the traffic will follow. More than your own opinion, it is the opinion of others that add value and credence to your post and receipes - so try to get as many as possible. Try posting comments on cooking forums, volunteer in food related NGOs and fundraisers etc..
Expand your thinking - follow your passion. $$ will follow later.
