7. Dowry - in all it’s forms
- Why “in all its forms”? What is wrong if I willingly wish to give money to my daughter?

Then go ahead and give the money who is stopping you.........I thought ashirwaad was good enough :D

Ashirwad is good but not enough if you want your child to start his/her life as a married person in the same manner that he/she is used to live before marriage.

8. Extravagant weddings that put unnecessary pressure on parents
- Again, wrong only if done under compulsion.

Are you actually from India or what????
The way the Indian society works is magical to you I suppose :madgo:
"Unki beti ki shaadi mein to unhone ek gaadi, fridge, gas, diamond sets and all sorts of chize gift kari......aap apni beti ki shaadi mein kya de rahe hain?" Have you ever heard this?

Hearing is different from following it or believing in it. It is a simple question, which one should have the sensibility to answer in a simple manner - 'hamari to lakshmi hi aapke ghar bhej rahe hain, aur saath main aashirwad bhi de rahe hain'

Do you have some difficulty with comprehension or in your eagerness to win an argument your sanity takes a vacation, because you seem to tripping all over yourself?

Last time your link to an article on NE being neglected had nothing whatsoever to with the subject.

Now you post a link that exposes the ills of the caste system. Did I in my response refute this evil? If you would care to pay a little more attention instead of getting all worked up in a juvenile frenzy, you might notice that in your OP the article listed :
10. The horrific caste system

and I did not post a rebuttal to that.

So, what exactly is the point you are trying to make?

Riots do not have government approval.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they do!!
Shreekumar and Haren pathak both have said that CM Narendro dhoti ordrered the cops to not do anything during the riots in gujarat. One guy was killed and the other transferred.

As far as the policies are concerned, they are tailored to improve the status of minorities. Riots are instigated by groups with vested interests and are not to be confused with “intolerance towards minority groups”, because if they were the norm people would be rioting everyday.
Also please realize, “dude-ing” doesn’t help much in arguments.

Minority Umbrella covers the Dalits as well...hence the last link fromTOI.
I think dude-ing does help in some ways (even if its in annoying :D )

Do not tell me that you guys havent heard people saying that so and so's daughter is 30 something and she is still not married.
Or the fact that parents say beta shaadi karle......kab tak kanaware bethega?? Forget parents or society's pressure to get married.....Havent yyou been pressurised by your girlfriend for marriage at any point?? not in so many words but subtle hints.

Age?, our society and the culture where grahasthashram starts at 25 years of age. Dont this contribute to getting pressurised for marriage, prove it otherwise.

I have seen middle class people in order to come at par with their in laws or even their relatives throwing lavish and extravagant weddings inspite of the fact that they cannot afford. And this does happen.

What is wrong in the guy getting bail because he was the sole earner of the family? Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Why make the family of the man charged suffer until the guilt is proven. You speak as if he was acquitted of all charges and set free!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But its okay for the woman who got raped to suffer!! You seem like more worried about the alleged rapist's family but what about the victims family?
I am in a rush but I will reply back to your earlier comments.

And yes you mentioned Anger management problem, I hope i don't have it. The smileys were put just for the heck of it.

No they don’t!!

Narendra Modi is not the government! What the government can do and not do is written in the constitution. If Narendra Modi, or anyone for that matter, does something that is against the spirit of the constitution, then it is the individual in question who is to be blamed and not the nation or the government.

By doing something corrupt the individual abuses his capacity. Do not blame the nation for it!

You seem to be confused between minority groups and backward classes. Please realize that Dalits are NOT a minority!

Also, I suggest you read the full article quoted. You will note that an alternative and more plausible explanation has been provided. It seems quite possible that the dalit woman in question is trying to gain political mileage out of this incident. The woman is already a sarpanch of a village, which itself goes to show that dalits are not being suppressed, at least not in her case!

It would be interesting to learn from you how “dude-ing” helps.

So? I am sorry, I still do not see why this has to belong to the list of 58 things the country can do without?

It is more of a cultural issue than anything else.
In any sphere of life, anything out of the ordinary or off the norm is bound to draw attention.

Second, anyone is free to wonder or express surprise about anything he feels like. In a country, where live-in relationships are still taboo, where marriage is a norm, where girls and boys “generally” do get married by a certain age, what is wrong if someone wonders why a girl has not got married as per norms?

Again, what the hell is wrong with a father saying that to his son? It is only a question of concern, and a normal adult “beta” need do nothing more than give whatever legitimate reasons he may have!

It does if the person also believes in the concept of “grihasthashram”. If I don’t believe in “grihasthashram”, I don’t care what anyone says.

This is an example of issues that are cultural and applicable to individuals. The article in the OP appears as a sarcastic mockery of the 58 years of Indian independence. Does it expect the government to make laws prohibiting parents from asking such questions to their sons?

For Ogs sake! Whose fault is it if the “middle class” guy who does this? It is HE who is the moron! It is HE,the dumbass who needs to get his act straight.

Can’t you understand that these are issues have nothing to do with India as a nation 58 years after independence.

Can you pleas show me the relationship between the “level” of suffering by the woman and the person getting or not getting bail?

Bail is only a temporary release until the charged has been given a hearing and appropriately judged. Grant or denial of bail is a judge’s decision and depends on the severity of the crime, the security risk, the threat the offender may pose and several other reasons that a lawyer may know better.

That bail was granted to a person whose guilt had not been proven, is not a disgrace to the country 58 years after independence.

While some of the points made by the author of the article in the OP are valid, he appears more of moronic twat making asinine additions to make up the figure of 58!
