Hi All,

I want to buy "Tatri" from an Indian store in GTA.

What name is it available here in Indian Stores.

Nobody seems to know what it is. Its used to make Kadi.

if thats the case then they are curry leaves. I could be wrong!!

i think u should try lemon salt,coz i think thats what its called.

"Tatri" is essentially food grade chemical used for:
1. Curdling Milk for making Indian Paneer
2. Adding sour taste to food (like in kadhi when curd is too fresh)

It is available as "Tatri" in Indian Grocery stores, as large transparent crystals.

Chemically it is known as:
1. DL-tartaric acid Food grade
2. L-tartaric acid Food grade


Its common derivatives/variants are:

a, Potassium Sodium Tartrate (Rochelle Salt)
b, Potassium Bitartrate (Cream of Tartar)

These are used in Food & Beverages and now increasingly in cosmetics.

Armed with this information you can check out in:
any grocery store or
shop selling food additives.



Don't forget to call me when you make kadhi/paneer.
