I landed in canada in Sept 2001 and within 2 weeks time moved to USA and working here for last two years
I visited toronto in Mid Aug 2003 for applying for PR card(I have IMM1000 doc) and then again came back to USA
I heard that for collecting PR card CIC is asking to show a secondary photo ID card issued by a candain province.As I have been in USA I don't have health card or Candian Driving licence but I have US driving licence and my wife has valid Internationa Driving Permit
My questions are
(1) Can I use those doc as Secondary photo ID?
(2) One of friend was telling that CIC,toronto office now not asking for any secondary photo ID.They are asking for onlu pasport,CIC letter and landing doc.I heard that they also put up in a display board in their CIC,toronto office.Is this true?
(3)If I miss my PR card pick up date can I collect it from CIC,Toronto office on any saturday mornng<
I applied from Mississauga so I'll be collecting my PR from CIC,Toronto office
I will appreciate feedback from you guys...if anyone picked up PR card recently from CIC,toronto office couldshare his experience

I think you are in a better situation than me. I didn't apply for the PR card till date. Will be visiting Windsor this week with my family to apply. I would appreciate if you could advise me on the following points.

1) Do you have children ? If so, what did you write about their education..like schooling etc., for the period.

2) How much time it took for you to get the appoint to receive PR card from the date of application

I have one son aged 4 yrs and he is going to PreK school in Chicago area!
You can write your kid's actual school details...as long as you are maintaining 2 out of 5 years PR rule you should be fine

2) How much time it took for you to get the appoint to receive PR card from the date of application
I checked my PR card application status via CIC eservice and here is the staus
(1)CIC received my PR card in 08/21/2003
(2)Started processing on 09/29/2003 and approved the same on the same day for our entire family
(3)Expecting CIC PR card call letter by first week of Nov and actual pick up by 11/21/2003
Rougly CIC is taking 3 months time ..so if you would have applied by 31st Sept you could receive the same before Dec 31,2003

Could anybody please reply me regarding my original Secondary photo ID requirement query?Atleast I want to know whether in CIC office,Toronto they put up a big board asking for only Passport,Landing paper and CIC call letter only?Is it possible for anyone who is staying close to CIC,Tornto office (55 St. Clair Avenue EAST,5th floor,Downtown Toronto) check up and let me know .I'll then be able to travel from USA to Toronto for picking up our PR card without any worry!
