That was 10 years old post, Seems like the guy never moved.
Or maybe moved & then probably made to buy safety shoes & work a 7.5 hr shift in a warehouse doing some heavy lifting. Who knows in 10yrs, he must have broken his back too & developed high blood pressure in the process.
Are you speaking from personal experience ... the description is quite detailed ..

Fido.
No, I'm referring to the experience if several non IT guys who end up by choice or compulsion..
True Dhaikin,
I was also heading for the same way at $ 8 (in 2002) min. wage labor job.
After 2 months (after 6 months in Canada) ended up in $ 10 office job but a dead beat job.
During my work at factories, I have met many people who have been doing this for 20 years plus. Of particular mention was one Pakisthani guy who has been here for 20 years. he was around 55 years. The sad thing was that instead of moving up the ladder, he was also working with me for $ 8 an hour.
very sad.
Incompetant people, Please keep out of Canada !

Nope. Madam, I would not say that.
You are too much generalizing.
In ENgineering in India only crap is taught. Many go to Gulf and since they are well paid in Gulf, they think that they have 2 horn when they land in Canada.
Some get by fluke as an apple to apple match.
I knew of one Army Engineer (from REC) who came in 2002. He passed some exam and got job as a technician earning $ 30 per hour. Sounds fine right? Yeah. But in the Army, he was a top engineer looking after submarines.
It is all a game (as Sadhguru) would say.
