Please do not critisize Gandhi. U can do this to congress not MKG.
We do not know what was situation before ind.
His way of thinking at that time when almost all of India was illiterate was totally different. Everybody has weak points and positive points.
A person who can politically challenge the mighty Britishmen was only one person MKG
Indira Gandhi started spoiling congress. Not MKG
Everybody in India makes jokes on him It hurts me. Yes we r making jokes because we r independent now.
MKG had guts to challenge british in South Africa no other body.
I know DT it was ur personal opinion.
I never supported congress. I am a BJP fan but I respect MKG

DT and others... a modern day perspective for all ya folks...

When Michael Jackson said "I see nothing wrong in sleeping with young kids"...he was dragged into the courthouse and now faces criminal charges....

Would Gandhi, also have faced a similar situation, had he been alive in today's generation ?

A major portion of India was illiterate and thats why Gandhi found it convenient to take advantage of the situation. Indira Gandhi comes much later into the picture....Gandhi laid the seeds of nepotism in the party, which was carried by Nehru and then passed on ...till todate !

The British were caught up in their own morals..Had it been Hitler (instead of the British)...Gandhi would have been given a taste of his own advice, that he gave to the jews ("i would urge them to give themselves up even more (to the Nazis) "

I know I m doing a flip flop on MKG in this thread itself but thats only due to my knowledge evolved and still evolving as I look deeper into the subject .

No1 is 100% correct . Each has his own flaws after all v r humans. Gandhi also committed a few errors like supporting Nehru 'stead of Patel . But.....but..... these few errors dont take over the massive larger than life deeds this man attained which has made him a unique world figure .

Lets dissect his unique points and v will find this man phenomenal (of course the follies are also there but take a balanced view )

Satyagraha movement - virtuous 10 point agenda which is unbelievable.
Non Cooperation Movement - British were beaten in their own moral grounds . Gandhi practiced what they preached .
Dandi March - Deja Vu they call it 2day after 5 generations .
Leadership - united the whole massive nation under 1 umbrella . United in terms of belief and principles.To have such leader amongst Indian divided masses was a result of only his revered being by all which was again a result of his principles and virtues ..... The Mahaan Atma .......................Einsteen remarked that generations to come wud not even believe that such aman existed in flesh and blood .

Yes there was a Jinnah and there was a Nehru and there was politics and there was division but who said he was perfect ?

In India the context of Adults sleeping in the same bed as their (or others children) is totally different.
