Depends on where u land....

If ur landing somewhere up north (Nunavat), it will be hard and expensive... 2L milk will cost u $7.00... ;)
If u land somwhere even more north, u may have to eat bears/seals/fish,etc,etc :D

Just kiddin....:)

If u cook, vegetables of all sorts are available in grocery stores 12 months/yr... There are a lot of Indian stores. They sell Indian vegetables, pulses, masals, etc,etc... U can find just about everything u find in India... ;)

Mostly all restaurants sell veggies too...u will be surpised to find that a lot of canadians do not eat meat...

Dont think though that they follow strict veggie cooking practises (different utensils and all that sort) ...
So, If u cook, ur ok.... Or, u may have to bring down that tolerance level if u eat only in restaurants...

U will find a bowl of salad just about anywhere ;)

Be careful of the salad dressings though.
Very often they have some ingredients derived of animal origins, if you are a strict vegetarian.

Wait a sec!

Somebody said STRICT vegetarian???
There is nothing like strick vege in this world.....
How???
Call the company making tooth paste n ask weather they have any animal ingredients in it or not!!
Call the company making sugger n ask them how they make??
As bison said eating vege in restorant is not 100% pure vege because of cross contamination.
Check the ingreadients of eating products which u buy from any store. will u find all of them 100% pure vege???

Yes, there is !
There are two types of vegetarian - lacto-ovo, and vegans (I called vegans as strict vegetarians).
Lacto-ovo vegetarians do consume milk and eggs, but no meat products.
Vegans do not consume any products that have animal based ingredients in them, not just food.
I know of vegans who do not use commercial soaps, shampoos, leather products, etc.

I agree absolutely with you about checking labels and eating out - you can never be sure.
The only way to be absolutely one hundred percent sure is to produce your own food.
This is what the homesteaders do.

Any time you buy anything from a store, you cannot be sure because everything is not labelled.
There are certain labeling requirements that do not require manufacturers to label everything that is there in a product.
It depends on the quantity of that ingredient present.

Whatever is labelled is often rounded off according to the manufacturer's own desires (sometimes rounded up and sometimes down).

Strict veganism is possible and is indeed practiced by many.

In that case, There is no such thing as strict NO-BEEF Non-Veg too...Unless u go to a resutaurant that doesnt sell beef.

C'mon guys... This is a sensitive topic.... Lets take a chill pill....and call it quits....

We are probably treading some sensitive/delicate lines here...
