Guys,

Just wanted to know what people from different parts of our country think about our good friend Lalooji? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly ?

I think he is a formidable force in India's most lawless state, but he is also a key ally to Sonia's Congress.
BTW, Not everyone can match his wits. Not everyone can go on to become the Chief Minister of a state.

Whats the other side of this coin?

I dont think he is a khotta sikka... Otherwise Duniya ki sabse badi democracy ki politics mien yeh itne time nahien chalta.

On a lighter note

Laloo Prasad Yadav was hosting a Japanese Delegation for Business Development to Bihar. The Japanese Emissary was quite impressed with Bihar and he stated,'Bihar is an excellent state. Give us three years and we will turn it into an economic superpower like Japan.' Laloo was very surprised. 'You Japanese are very inepicient (inefficient),' he stated.'Give me three days and I will turn Japan into the next Bihar!'

Think about it...
How many people can really achieve this faisco?

I've always seen a negative attitude towards this guy. Do the elite from Bihar also see him just like that? How does a common man from Bihar see him? Is it only Bihar who has corruption? What about the rest of India? Why people from other states, who are themselves part of corruption (one way or other) ridicule him? What gives them that right?

I myself have a negative attitude towards him. Anyone out there who can make me look at the other side of this coin ?

Also, How does Bihar fair in terms of natural resources available and in terms of economy compared to other states?

Laloo's coin is imbalanced it tend to fall on one side always:
fodder scam
Betiya Rani MBBS toping (How did she get admission is another issue)
Betiya's Sasural get's electricity and road as a dowary gift
Laloo's gift to Indian constitution.....Rabri Devi
Palitics is game, where Laloo excells by all standards with one palicy...to the point reply to every media question, that point is always what laloo scores.

So, in your opinion, corrupt = formidable?
I don't think I need to tell you about what Indian politics have devolved into over the period of last 50 years since independence. The measure of success of a "neta" in India is commensurate with how corrupt he can be, the amount of raw muscle power he commands, and his ability to fool the gullible indian public. On all these fronts, Laloo is indeed formidable and that is what makes him what he is.

As the saying goes - Politics makes strange bedfellows. So it is nothing but politics of convenience. There are no enemies and no friends in politics. Sonia and her Congress goons are no better either.

Have you heard him speak in any rally. I have. He is atrocious! He makes cheap jokes, barbs and wisecracks that find humour only with those who appreciate his rustic style of speaking. Do you have any quotes that appear to exhibit "wit"?

Agreed. But does that make him a "good" Chief Minister though?

Duniya ki sabse badi democracy duniya ki sabse bewakoof democracy bhee hai! The more gullible the people the easier it is for politicians like him to manage to stay in power.

Rather than the "elite", I'd say that it is the intelligentia that have a negative attitude towards this asshole. The "elite" can afford to like anyone as long as he provides them with avenues to remaining elite.

How does a common man from Bihar see him?

The common man sees him as a great person, and he does that because he is gullible. Though sad, it is the "common" man who is actually responsible for the state of politics in that country.

Corruption exists everywhere and in all parts of the world. What matters in the degree of corruption and more importantly how much if affects a common person. In this race, Bihar takes the honours, with UP giving it stiff competetion.

He, and others like him, have no other side that is better.

Until the formation of Jharkhand, Bihar was the richest state in terms of natural resources, almost entirely on account of steel grade coal. Things have changed since and now I think Bihar must be one of the poorest states in India.

Yo DiogenestheCynic,

Ur insight into this  is better than mine...;)

Assuming that i agree with everything u said ( I am still awaiting some bihari babuas or someone else to throw their insight into this issue... Honestly, I enjoy this bashing...But is there anyone out there who can try and just highlight his +ve points? )

I recall seeing "Jina isika naam hien", where he was the spotlight, and Mukesh Bhat stepped in and said that He thinks that Laloo should be the next Prime Minister of India. :D

When Laloo completed 25 years of his rule over Bihar, he wanted a special postage stamp with his picture on it. He asked Rabri, stressing that it should be world class. The stamps were released, and Lalloo was pleased. But within a couple of days, he began hearing complaints that the stamp was not sticking properly, and became furious. He called Rabri and ordered her to investigate the matter. Rabri checked out at several post offices, and then reported to Lalloo Prasad: She said: "The stamp is really world class. The problem is, our Biharis are spitting on the wrong side."

After completing a jigsaw puzzle he'd been working on for quite Sometime, Laloo proudly shows off the finished puzzle to a friend. "It took me only 5 months to do it," Laloo brags.
"Five months? That's too long." the friend exclaims. "You are a fool," Laloo replies."Read the box, It says 5-7 years."

Once Laloo was travelling by road in his car. Driving along the outskirts of a village, the driver accidentally hit a pig killing it. Laloo asked his driver to go to the village, find the owner of the pig and give him money as compensation. The driver went into the village to do his master's bidding. However, Laloo was surprised when he saw the driver returning laden with fruits and goodies. Unable to comprehend what could have happened, he asked the driver what had happened and how comehe was laden with gifts and sweets.
The driver said that the gifts and sweets were from the villagers. Laloo asked the driver what he had told the villagers.
The driver said,'Kaa jaaney kya hua. Jo aap kahey they oohi boley hum. Hum boley, - "Hum Laloo Prasad ka driver hoon. Sooar ka bachchaa ko mar diya hoon" - aur sub log ekdum se bahoot khoos ho gaya aur hum ko mithai de diya"

He said he would be in Bihar for 20 years back in 1989.

Lets see what happens.
