Question for Mr. Massood..In a dilema about parents sponsorship.

Mr. Massood,
I sent my parents application from Quebec to Delhi on Dec'2000. I am also sponsoring my brother who is now 28 and a full time student, he had studied in quebec for a year and is fully bilingual. When I applied he was approved and was told that the process will take 18-24 mths. I am still waiting 5 yrs later. They have visited me twice during this time.
New Delhi said that an interview was required at 43 mths. According to them it has been only 36 mths. I recently realized the time was calculated since the application was received in Delhi (2001 and not 2000). We received the CAIPS file and there is no additional information in it. Basically they want to verify if my brother is a genuine student. They were confused about a course he was taking.
I have not been able to start a family because we would have to show additional income. I also lost my job on basis of which I was sponsoring them, I am in the process of finding another. Everything has been on hold for 5 yrs. Should I drop the sponsorship and ask my brother to come here on student visa? My parents are basically worried about him being settled or do you think they would be issued medicals or the interview in the next few mths.
Any suggestions provided will be sincerely appreciated. I don't mind giving a contribution or paying a consultation fee for your suggestions or any help that you can provide.

If your objective in the parents' sponsorship is to get your brother's immigration, then you should get him to apply on his own [skilled worker category under Quebec or Federal rules]. This will allow you to focus on your family and get on with your life.
It seems he'll qualify on his own skills.
As for getting a student visa, it may be difficult, now that you have sponsored them. There's no harm in trying though. Try it, if negative, consider my advice in 1st paragraph.
Thank you for offering to contribute/pay. Not many are this sensitive. If you are genuinely interested in making a charitable contribution, stay tuned until I decide how/what to do next.

Thanks for your advice. I will consider the options. I don't mind giving a contribution for charity. I visit the forum regularly so I will watch for updates.
