Hi ! guys, it seems that this post just did not take off. I am sure that our desi community members would definitely like to give their input to the above idea of starting a newspaper/magazine.

In my opinion the "Canadian Desi" name and logo can be a good branding for this venture. In recent past many desis that I have met from the overseas; mostly new immigrants, not only recognise this brilliant website but also have a lot of positive things to say about our discussion topics.

As far as revenue from ads is concerned, you can count on me for some advertising space. I would also be able to add a few real estate related articles.

I support your idea of starting a CanadianDesi Print media. However what do you think about the crowded market - already having tons of newspapers in each of the official languages in India?

This is also not a one man job.

For us, having this website can definately have a great plus in starting print media. Manan and Vikas has started a magazine for truck drivers and they seems to be completely busy with it. They might provide more input on this.
