Guyz I am in USA these days and wish to contact CIC . But it is impossible to dial this number from USA as this works only within Canada. Shouldn't the CIC have a fone number with area code which can be accessed from USA ? Guyz please find a way for me !!

I don't think you can from USA.I have faced the same problem when I tried to contact CIC regarding my PR card when I was in USA
Only option you have to take your friend's help who is in Canada and can contact CIC on your behalf

There could be another way but I am not sure whether it will work or not which is via Canadian calling card.You need to use Toronto or any Canadian local access Number mentioned in the calling card (it will be long distance number from USA) and then try to dial that magic CIC 1-800 number

This contact number for CIC is for people accross Canada to do inquiries to CIC. You will need to cross the border to Canada to be able to contact CIC with that number. If you need to contact the Canada Embassy from the USA contact the office in Buffalo.

As per the website of CIC. if you are outside of Canada, you can't dial 1-888-242-2100. You'll have to contact Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.
