Has anyone opened an internet account with ING Direct and if so how has been the experience so far?

Thanks and regards,

Try PC Financial instead. It has all the benefits of ING Direct plus the added advantage of being able to use the CIBC ABMs for withdrawal of cash. ING Direct has very limited availability of ABMs.

In addition to this, you get free cheque book and free PC points which can be utilized for buying groceries. Moreover, with ING You would still have to open a chequing account elsewhere and link that account with ING.

Hence, PC financial is the best choice. You can find their account opening outlets in some of the Loblaws store.

Hi Wisernow / Mr Chopra,

Thanks - was seeing through http://www.pcfinancial.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK - the interest rates offered by PCF are less than those offered by ING. For example, a 1 year GIC at PCF yields 1.8% whereas the same at ING yields 2.75%. Also the GIC at PCF is non-redeemable. I have also not seen on their site that the deposits are CDIC insured.

Would appreciate your comments.

Regards.

I would rather recommend Scotiabank's money master account - which is also an internet account but you can operate, if required, at the bank teller too. It gives you higher interest rate than PC financial and you can keep a checking account in the same bank - with a minimum balance of $2000 - and all transactions in the checking account are free.

If you want to maintain a simple chequing account go with PC Financial .. no min. balance, no service charges, free cheque book, use of CIBC ATM machine without any fees and you get free PC points plus great service.

For Investment point of view ING Direct bank would be a better choice.

Thanks and regards.
