Nice to hear this.
In India, the term Butcher has practically stopped since he swept the polls. No one in India is even remotely associating him with the post Godhra riots.
Of course, western countries are an exception. They still dwell in the past, I guess.
Canada is / should be very close to Modi

Imagine your name is Gulfam jee and you are the lone survivor of an innocent family who was massacred in 2002 and still have not got any justice because the Govt has manipulated things in the system.
Would you consider your self to be a traitor then ?
And if yes , how do you think NaMo jee should deal with you.

Fido bhai: But, it is undeniable that large numbers of hardcore NAMO haters belong to one particular faith. Not Sikhs, Not Buddhists, Not Jews and Not Christians(peeved? perhaps. But not hatred).
How do you explain that?

Because people of that particular faith were brutally massacred, displaced, were not permitted to go back to their homes even after the riots were long over and done with. Because people of that particular faith are being questioned every now and then by the ruling parties' MPs as well as their allies even in the most peaceful times.
And, because people of that one particular faith didn't get due justice. Even if Modi was not directly responsible, he was the CM of the State and not less.
The judiciary, police, politics of the day and state all failed them - a big time.
Question is, who has the hatred, and against whom?
Funny, you even mentioned Sikhs. Is he doing anything to address and probe 1984 when they are in power now? I know, that pogrom was not their fault, but when in opposition they make all (valid) noises of bringing perpetrators to books, but in power they can't even initiate a just inquiry? I know the Sikhs are not quite a fan of him. Don't ask me as to how do I know.

Ok, let's say and admit the riots orchestrated by Congress supporters to defame Modi. Given!
However, as the riots did happen in his own State, what was stopping him to rehabilitate the victims and not induce their sufferings further? It was his and only his responsibility to see this done. He turned the blind eye. That's where, I think his faults lie. Even if he would be the greatest PM India has ever seen, there will always be this blot that supersedes.
