I think you're misconstruing this whole Modi affair. No one, myself included is against his Canada or International visits. As a PM of India, I do welcome it and looking forward as to what would be the end result (hopefully positive). However, this is just one side of it. The OP posted a story where Modi was was being criticized for Gujarat pogrom. I guess, this is what most people have a reservation to. While he is a welcome change, he is equally deemed responsible for the riots as a CM of the State. If you're not denying his contributions to whatever development took place in Gujarat, you just can not, I repeat can-not side track his motives during and after the riots. If a group of people (i.e. Sikhs) still have reservations against Congress for its very hand in 1984 riots, then why do we have to be an eye blind to Modi? I repeat, have the affected victims of the riots been rehabilitated by the then CM, aka Modi?

Alright, he has a development agenda, but also a blotted past. What's wrong with admitting it? Courts did acquit him, but pardon my comparison, as have lots of other criminals without the valid evidences, case in point Sajjan Kumar and Tytler (1984). Courts simply work on evidence and proof, and everyone knows how easy is it to botch up the case in favor or against the accuse, especially if you're powerful in India with deep pockets. You must all know how inefficient Indian justice system is.

But, you know what? It's alright. Different people have their own Gods. For you, it's Modi. Not for me. To me, he's simply a PM of India, and I have every right to criticize him without being labelled as traitor, ISI agent, an ideologue (left-liberal, etc.), pseudo-secularist, or a tard. I also wish him the best to uplift India out of the very corruption, nepotism, the social ills, Justice and Policing, health and a quality education for the poor. Anything else (i.e. Hindu Nation) is a pure hogwash.
