Want my 10 year old to learn Hindi ( as third language) from private hindi-speaking person in GTA.

Peel district school board should have Hindi Classes as a regular credit. They normally have these classes on Saturday.

A Proud Indian Canadian

I have been wondering about this for few years now - how if I started Hindi classes, specially spoken Hindi. My wife had been a Hindi teacher before we came to Canada and I myself was "mukhya sampadak" for my school and college magazines and topped the class in Hindi subject. I have come across a lot of people, including adults, who were born and brought up outside of India and do not speak Hindi, who would like to learn to speak at the very least (some also want to learn to read and write).

I have thought about doing it from home, in a "kind of" classroom session. I do have some books too that my wife used as a primary school teacher, but it would be a more informal session (including watching a bollywood movie and trying to understand what the words and sentences mean).

Ofcourse it would be chargeable since anything provided free is not valued, but do not know what would be a reasonable charge.

What do you guys feel about it?

How is the teaching? Are they bringing in some professionals to teach or are they getting some one working in some other profession for working part time?
