Immigrant Parents in Canada http://groups.yahoo.com/group/immigrantparentsincanada
I had a chat with my MP over a town hall meeting and asked about the required reforms in the immigration system. He said that lots of reforms are in the pipeline. They are going to link the immigration criteria with the actual job requirements. If any province needs masons, they will open the immigration for workers who knows masonry work with other minimum required skills. These requirements/program may change month to month basis. The immigration system will also take few months time. They are trying to make it close to real time requirement full fill program. Most of such programs will be based upon province specific requirements with strict restrictions.

A Delhite in Toronto
Dream on Delhite !. I first heard it in a town hall meeting with the Liberals in 2003 ! This is 2012.
FYI: Australia has been sucessfully doing this for a number of years but it was sucessful due to the Chinese boom. A lot of resources for fueling China's growth comes fromAustralia !
Peace

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
It seems that at least the government is on a right track. The criteria for FSW has been changed a lot from what it was in 2003 to what it is now, even though the changes are not enough. It is not the fault of Canadian Government but it is the no. of people who apply for it . Government is trying to reduce the backlog of more than half million files. Government is still hesitant due to certain political compulsions.
Are you serious? The Canadian Govt. was accepting the applications at that time. And and that time the people whose applications were accepted had the required points needed to qualify for migration. CIC did not have enough staff to process those applications. They should have limited the no. of application then itself.
