Medical test for vist visa for parents is not necessary, just 2 months ago my parents and also my uncle and aunt got visitor visa for canada with out any medical tests.
Thanks All for sharing your experiences.
Well, this is not the first time they are going for visa, but i am more focused this time as i wanted them to get the 10yrs visa..
hence i am not leave any thing which might cause them less period of visa.
btw... did any one directly applied to CIC-Delhi via "Mail" instead of VFS route. As per the website, you dont have to go thru the VFS, but not mentioned about applying thru mail directly...
just curious to know if any one directly mailed their application to delhi/chandigarh....

My parents are in process of submitting Visa application directly to Delhi office. i am waiting for revised fees which will be published on November 7
On VFS website (VFS consent form) they have clearly mentioned that it is not mandatory to use VFS`s services
http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/visaapplication.html
Same is also given on high commission of Canada to India Website http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/visit-visiter.aspx?lang=eng#a5
Difference between VFS and direct mail application is that mail application takes 2 weeks for processing and VFS application takes few less days as compared to mail application

Item # 1 so visa fee is same for 10 yr/5 yr multiple visa or 6 months?
There are only two type of visitor visa Multiple Entry & Single Entry and not 5 year / 10 year or 6 months.
The fee per person is $150 for a multiple entry visa, $75 for a single entry visa, or $400 for a family (multiple or single entry).
Item # 2 what if u send fee for 10 yr multiple visa and you get only 6 months...

Not everyone who applies for a multiple entry visa is issued one.
Applications are examined on a case-by-case basis and must take into consideration the fee paid (single- or multiple-entry) in addition to the assessed risk of the individual applying.
Officers are now encouraged to issue multiple entry visas to the maximum duration of the validity of the passport.
So based on above
If you have applied for multiple entry visa and you are eligible
they will issue visa based on your pass port validity period.
Hence question of refund does not arise.

@ Business_India
yes we do have option for single or multiple entry visa in application forms
any visitor can apply for multiple entry visa....they have not specified any relation criteria....
Criteria : not idea but based on information asked in application it seems that following are the important criteria for decision
1.financial status of visitor in India
2.he / she should not be prospective permanent resident
3.financial status of Sponsoring person
