Sure RBO, will post my experiences as soon as my parents get their visa's.

For now, we have decided to go thru a local travel agent to take care of submitting/mailing to VFS etc... Because going to VFS office it self will cost them 1000Rs..instead they are paying a commision to the travel agent like in the past...

I am going to send my documents scanned via email. Hope they get it printed in color and attach to their application..

US visa can be obtained from toronto itself, but only concern is the availability of appointment... so cannot plan trips south of the boarder as n when they arrive in canada.

Thanks AshwinG,
I have few other questions for you :-)
what documents you used to send regularly?
I am sending my invitation letter (mentionig 10yrs),
Online bank statement printout,
Employement letter (this i am having issues as my company's HR is not porviding being a IT consultant and the contract agreement letter from the agency does not look good) Not sure what to do in this case other than faking :-( (hate to fake while i am working really)

Also, Have you notarized before scan/emailed your documents?

As far as applying for US visa from india is tough as they have to get some invitation from the resident of USA.
I am guessing, they can apply from here without an invitation by stating tourisim... may be i am wrong...

MRK,
Faking might be Ok as they will not check.
You may send a letter of recommendation from your MP too. Though they will say outwordly that it will not help, insidely it will work.
The letter will say that you are residing in the MP's constituency and that you want to spend time with your parents. If you live in a predominantly Indian place, your MP will have the standard letter
Peace

I had send follwoing doc's
1. Bank Statement for last six months to show that the funds were not deposited over night to gain visa
2. Property Tax / Mortgage statement .
3. Self attested invitation letter .
4. NO TAX Papers as income was low .
5. NO Employment letter as I was in same boat as you . I somehow arranged the letter from agency but they intentionally did not mentioned client name and emoluments .
I would suggest you not to fake anything unless badly required .

I have never notarized any documents .

What I understand from all previous post there is no set of rules to get the visa .
all you need is good luck

AG

Unless you want to risk permanently jeopardizing your parents' (and any future) sponsorship applications, I would suggest not doing this. It might work, might not - but in my opinion, is definitely not worth the risk.

I was a consultant way back when and what I did was provide a letter on my corporation's letter head and attached the Contract as proof. You can also attach a recent paystub as further proof (I did that). CIC isn't concerned about how you're employed, rather that you are employed and have the requisite income to support folks you're sponsoring for a visa. Worked fine in my case.

I am not sure, but heard that there are more chances of US visa rejection if you apply from within Canada. I also want to apply for my parents' US visa since they are here on a visitor visa already, but hesitant due to the above hearsay.

The best way is to apply for the US while they are in India and once they get their Canadian, they will have it relatively easier.

Can someone else shed a light on this as well? Thanks.

BL is right, do not do the fake letters (if you can avoid some how) but in my case i did wrong too...

On my first attempt to get visa, CIC rejected and give the reason that your parents are retired and they have too much bond here compare to India so they rejected my first application.

Second attempt i shows that my father is working in private firm and immidiately they got visa without asking any questions......

i don't know still that this was coincidence or what and we got visa......its right this all on luck......
