I was wondereing how many times a PR can be renewed, if we meet the 730 days of residency in each 5 years. Someone said it can be renewed only once. Is it right?

I do not think so. I know (before this rule changed to 2 yr out of 5), somebody took citizenship after 35 years in Canada when she was turning 65 to get old age pension. I few other people who did that.
PR is not renewed - the PR Card is.
You can renew it indefinetely.
In other words, you can be a permanent resident forever, and never seek citizenship.
