multiculturism can work but it is very hard to make it work.
it requires both the native people as well as the immigrants to be committed to the growth of the country to make it work.
if immigrtants are coming only to exploit benefits and get a nice passport it won't work.
in my opinion, it has failed abysmally in the following countries: Australia, France, Germany, UAE and Saudi.
It is currently on course for failing in the USA. Give it another 2 years for USA to be like Australia.
Canada is on the verge. depending on how things go in the next 2 years, Canada may be on target to fail here as well but i think Canada has a better chance to making it work than does USA.
the UK is half and half. parts of it have worked well there.
I can think of very few countries where it has succeeded well. I can only think of Singapore.
As long as population can be kept controlled, immigration controlled and the country is not a big socialist country, it can suceed.

Still most of the famous sports involve mindless hitting of a ball, either with legs, hand, bat or stick

Everything works when government takes all your income in terms of taxes. rate of Divorce has fallen in US during the recession because it became expenseive. Here govt does not give you a chance to think about multi-culture when you you are worried about making both ends meet.
