I am with Vonage US for last one year having Canadian Virtual No. and paying through my Canadian CC.

Strange as US plans are unlimited .. Adapter was free for me as well ( the catch was to sign a contract for 01 year ) .

Has anyone recently order Vonage? Adapter is now $9.99 (or its shipping charges?) and unlimited calling plan is $29.99 plus tax.

I just signed for vonage , it is 29.99 pm + taxes, with free adapter and 9.99 for shipping.
Only catch they have is if you disconnect within 2 years and after 30 days of trial period , they charge 49.99 as disconnection fee and the adapter is yours to keep.
