Hi Guys,

Recently I had moved my home phone from Rogers to Vonage Canada. Vonage Canada has been ambitiously advertising a Vonage World Canada Plan with $29.99 for first 6 months and $39.99 after that, where in you have unlimited Canada, US and 60 other countries including India (landline and Mobile).

While signing up the CSR of Vonage were insisting that its an unlimited plan. I was really happy to get it and move my home phone to Voange. Believe it or not on the first day of my connection a rude shock to my surprise.....on their website in a finer print they indicated "Fair Usage Policy"

http://www.vonage.ca/fair-usage-policy/

Here are the details:

Fair Usage Limits
Calls included in your Vonage World Canada plan have a maximum call duration of 4 hours per call, after which time the call will be disconnected.

Vonage World Canada plan is subject at all times to a limit of 2000 minutes in aggregate during each monthly billing cycle for outgoing inclusive local and long distance calls anywhere in Canada, the US and Puerto Rico and for calls to international countries specified in the Vonage World Canada plan. Vonage to Vonage calls are excluded from this policy.

IT IS NOT UNLIMITED, THEY LIMIT YOUR CALLS TO 2000 PER MONTH.

They expect a customer to a Fair user, but they were never fair in revealing the facts. Its besides the point that they want to control a person using from residential line to a business line....

I feel they are cheating customers............BE WARE.

I tried to move my home phone from Vonage to Rogers, but Rogers seems to have problem in porting the same number. Finally I got a call that it can be transfered but yet to be done....

A little search in Charcha BEFORE signing or switching would have helped you..

Anyways, 2000 minutes /month for $30 or $40 is still quite good, if your usage is normal (medium). Otherwise, Vonage US is also a good option.

Good luck.
