Hi ,
There s so much of variety of pickles available in Indian stores ... Not sure which ones are popular / better / preferred ones ...
Could CD s post in their favorites / recommendations here amongst pickle brands and pickle variety here ?
Would be a spicy tangerine thread eh ??

I don't consume pickles very often, but we always have the Shalini bottle at home - haven't tried the others, so cannot comment.
If you like spices why not try each of them in turns - they last quite long (atleast in my home) - so it will be a few years before you can finish tasting all..

I tried pickles of different brands but I don't like the pickles available in stores because of the test of vinegar.
I like homemade pickles because one dont need to add vinegar as we can make it in small quantity and tastes good and material is easily available now in Indian stores.
I like chickpeas/methi pickle in particular.
The problem with pickles (readymade or homemade) is they lose their freshness and taste after few months. And as mentioned in previous post, taste of vinegar is also a turn-off.
I beg to differ . If made and stored properly than pickle gets better with the time .
Older the pickle is , better it taste ( I can atleast vouch for mango and Lemon pickle ) .

Try National Brand Pickles. Mango pickle (Punjabi style or Hyderabadi style) is my favorite. You also have a choice between spicy and regular.
