Residential Wind Turbine Energy Cost?
There is so much talk about wind turbine energy these days.
Is any body has setup this at back home in India.
We are thinking of setting up in Gujarat at my home town. We have farming land , our hydro bill is around 3000 Rs per month for land and 1000 Rs for home.
Is it really worth putting?
How much dose it cost to setup full system?
Is there any government grants?

A residential wind turbine can be a relatively large device and is not suitable for urban or small-lot suburban homes. Except for very small wind turbines (i.e., with rotors one meter or less in diameter) on very small towers, a property size of one acre or more is desirable.
The economics of a wind system are very sensitive to the average wind speed in the area. A small turbine can cost anywhere from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.10 lakh installed, depending upon size, application and service agreements with the manufacturer. Most small turbines have very few moving parts and do not require any regular maintenance. They are designed for a long life (up to 20 years) and operate completely automatically.
The wind system will usually recoup its investment through utility savings within 15 to 20 years and after that the electricity it produces will be virtually free. Over the long term, a wind turbine is a good investment because a well-sited wind system increases property value, similar to any other home improvement. You may buy wind systems in preparation for the retirement because you need not worry and to be subjected to unpredictable increases in Electricity rates in future

will like to have more information on it though...
i hv went to few website but they are mostly taking about north America and Europe..
India has so many plants but on big scales i m sure there must be so many residential turbine energy plants but not sure where to look
specially i heard that there is some government grants if you put those at your place..
i would like to have some opinion from people who already have this systems installed or has experienced.
is it worth risking money ?
is it profitable ?
how is the maintenance cost in India ?
are suppliers are reliable ?
You can see this on the big screen at the times provided or see it through the stored archives. Here is a link. But the situation given is specific to Canada.

Great subject matter and nice to watch and know.
Freddie.
Thank you ftfl
The video has really useful information...
and i m convince that if i am able to put wind turbine i will not regret
BUT STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY INDIA IS NOT USING THIS FREE AND ECO FRIENDLY ENERGY ? IT WILL SOLVE LOTS OF PROBLEM , WE DONT EVEN NEED USA FOR NUCLEAR SUPPLY IF WE GO ECO FRIENDLY BIO ENERGY
or may be we are not aware of energy plants in india
it will be very helpful opinion from someone in India or someone who has experienced about win turbine technology
i am also looking into some government programs which helps build this technology like German did. they were paying 50% of cost to setup facilities.
PLEASE ADVICE ME AND OTHERS ABOUT THIS IF YOU ARE AWARE OF IT SO WE CAN ALL GET BENEFITS NOT ONLY FOR CHEAPER ENERGY AS WELL AS LESS POLLUTED ENVIRONMENT
India has a number of projects which generate electricity by wind power. Infact with an installed capacity of 3595 MW it is the fifth largest producer in world !!!!! There was a major thrust in the mid 90's with a seperate ministry set up for non conventional energy in India. A lot of subsidy is also given for setting up these power projects.
However these are only for large projects for generating electricity. On a micro level the subsidy is given mainly in solar and bio gas sectors. You can check for more info here .. http://mnes.nic.in/
I am aware of major project but I would like to get information on residential win turbine project , which can be used for farm land , house etc...
we dont have capacity to go for massive huge projects . i wish though ..he...he..he..
I am happy to know that CD's are interested to talk about this topic. and would be very happy to read more comments....
however, i m in talk with few people in India if i get some update will post it here.
I STILL NEED TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE THIS SETUP
