Thanks a lot delhite once again.

As I am into tech support (mostly windows and some linux) and also I know some programming languages and SQL. I studied SQL, Oracle etc. in my collget time. Worked a bit on MySQL.

So what's your advise If I want to move to SAP BW. Shall I take some courses on Database (Oracle or MCDBA) or directly take the course on SAP BW.

I inquired in India and SAP authorized partners (Siemens and JKSoft) offers course full time that is not possible for me as I am already working full time.

There is one more institute and they are offering SAP BW course on weekends (2 months) for 35,000 (10,000 is to be paid after getting the job). Shall I get into this course to get the knowledge of SAP BW or shall I study on my own through books and online lectures. I am really keen to get into this. Just need to figure the best way out.

The one other question question that came to mind was about the number of openings. They would be quite less as compared to other mainstream technologies like .NET and Java.

Sorry for troubling you again. You seems like a mentor to me and hence seeking your advice.

I have 2 years is .NET programming experience. I am planning for a change and move over to SAP. I am thinking of joining SAP BI 7.0 in IIBS Mississauga. Is it a good idea to move to SAP or will it be better to stay put in programming.

I would like to know how is the job market. If anybody has done course though IIBS, I would like to know their experience or suggest any other better institute to do the course.

Check out the job openings at Workopolis and Moster to compare. I have no idea of current job market.

** Correction - In the earlier post the word "Over" was accidentally added with Java and .NET for Workopolis. Rectified and posted again.

Clearly there are more number of openings in Java and .NET (means less competition in general). However the salaries are good in SAP field, but as very less number of openings are there by specialty, so you need to be really have very very sound technical skills + relevant experience to get the job.
