Please Explain On-Line Status "In-Process" of Citizenship Application

Hello,
I live in Kitchener, Ontario, and applied for Canadian citizenship on Aug 27, 2007. I received acknowledgement letter on Nov 02, 2007; and now my On-Line status indicates "In-Process": "We started processing your application on Dec 18, 2007".
In light of this can some one guide me that when shall I expect my citizenship test, and when can I expect to be a Canadian citizen?

12-15 months from the date of your application
In process means the file is with your local office. No significance

"IN PROCESS" means that CIC started processing the application.

It will take 12 to 15 months till you get the citizenship but the written test can be within the next 9 odd months.
Timeline of a friend: Applied in May 2007 and appeared for the written test in Jan 2008.

Timelines vary between regions, even cities. A friend from Oshawa (ON, 20 minutes outside of Toronto) applied in March 2007 and wrote the test in Nov 2007. I applied on Aug 28, 2007 from Toronto and wrote the test in Dec 2007.
