Hi

Seems right now the citizenship timelines in calgary, alberta is 1 1/2 year from the date you apply for. I would like to know what is the timelines in Ottawa?

I am planning to move to Ottawa if the timelines are shorter.

Hi,

Process time

Ontario
3 to 6 months For the Test and 3 more months for the Oath. If everything goes smooth they may also ask for more documents if they need clarification. which may take some more time for process

Total time for the process is almost an yr. Call for the test starts coming after 8mths . In Alberta there can be more people and less immigration staff so its taking long time. I guess its the same with Quebec but out of no where Toronto and Ottawa the process time drop significantly.

Quebec
Test and Oath takes place on the same day If everything goes smooth.

All the best we all are waiting to get that ASAP ...

Thanks for the reply.

Any idea about how much time an applicant has to have residency status in a province to apply from that province.

Say i want to apply from Ottawa how long do i need to be a resident of Ottawa to apply for citizenship form there?

I don't believe there is any 'waiting time'. You can apply as soon as you move.

Let say all my 1095 days of stay was in Calgary and I move to a place where the processing is faster and can apply immediatly with out a residency status in that particular place?

WELL, last I heard, you are applying for Canadian citizenship and not for any province..

I am with you about applying for the citizenship part, but my question was is there any rule in place to restrict aspirants to apply from the same province where there residency is or where they are residing at the time of applying?
