Does anybody have any experiences re the category under which TN is applied and degrees from India that were evaluated? Like degree does not match with the category applied. Please specify the category under which the TN was applied and degree one has.

My husband did Mech. Engineering and now working on TN VISA in US
Do you know what category he applied under and when? The TN rules have become stricter recently.

Instead of people giving you the list of categories, tell us what your qualification is, so that people might be able to answer your question in a better way.
In case you are an engineer, just use the "engineer" as a category. Get your foreign degree evaluated from the cdn agency. Your job offer must match your qualification. If you have all these, then you should not worry.

that's what I would say.
I have recently had a bad experience but my case is sorted out. My lawyer applied under Systems Analyst category with a B.Com degree from India assessed as Bachelors degree by UofT. My TN was rejected. However, I applied under Management Consultant category and was accepted next day.
Now my friend is applying under Systems Analyst category. His job offer says he is systems manager. His degree is assessed at Engineer in Electronics. Will he face the issue of degree and job category being inconsistent.

Whenever there is a conflict of match between the degree, job offer and the category, there will be problems (most likely refusal) in getting the TN.
