I am not sure about it, but agriculture department will not allow you to bring it. It may carry diseases which are not native here and so they have strict laws about it.

Basil has many varieties. The closest name of Tulsi is Holy Basil.

hi Maharaj.

I am in calgary & am in need ofthe manjar can u post a few manjar in the regular post to me.?

We have it at our home. We got Dry 'Manjar' from India. We started with 'small pot' and now the Tulsi is moved in to quite a Big one.

And it requires quite a lot of Sun ...

Let me know if you want 'Manjar'.

Don't keep Tulsi Outside (I don't know any mythological reason to do or don't) - its just that if you put it outside in summer then plant will have difficulty adjusting Inside in Winter (actually True for any plant, My Logic)

In my experience this is not true. I have a currypatha plant which I got from India. In the winter I keep it inside (the leaves get a little light due to lack of direct sunlight even though it is right below the window). In the summer I keep it out on the deck and the leaves are a beautiful, dark, healthy green.

Also, it has its growth spurt in the summer outside months. In the winter I notice that it slows its growth process.

We use the fertilizer sticks and frequentl aerate the soil.

Hope that helps :)

PS: You have to "winterize" it like any plant that you move out or in. As in, a few hours everyday till it is over its shock. We take one week to move it in in the winter & similiarily one week to move it out in the summer.
