I am planning to take my parents to Montreal/Quebec City. I know these are popular destinations and many of you may have travelled to these places many a times

Would you be so kind as to share some info on affordable accomodations in these two cities? Decents Motels are what I had in mind...but I am open to any suggestions you may have...

For Quebec city, try Comfort Inn. It is not in Quebec city but probably 30 minutes drive from the city. But it is close to Mt. Anne. Shopping plaza just in front of you. This is a suite hotel so price may be little high but remember you will get a bedroom, living room and kitchen. So in stead of renting 2 rooms, you need to rent a suite. The living room has a pullout bed.

All my above information is old so please check with the hotel that all the above stuff like suite, a pullout bed in living room etc is still available.
