Experts please help...

My brother-in-law's visitor visa for Canada was rejected. There was no specific reason provided. Can you please tell me what documents I should send him to try again and have a good probability of getting the visa. I had sent him my employment letter, bank statements, a letter indicating that I am responsible for his stay and expenses. He has a wife and kid, though he was planning to come alone right now (for a visit).

Thanks

Seems you have provided all the required docs. Most probably, officer not satisfied about his intent to leave Canada.

You may appeal to Federal Court within 60 days but the hard to evaluate the chance of success without further details. Although, if he has wife & kid & travelling alone, that would be strong factor in demonstrating that he is likely to return. The officer has to give reasons for refusal.

Thank You Massood. They gave a standard form which has many checkboxes (for various reasons of denial). None of the check box was checked. He was though told that he needs further financial details from the sponsor (me) and him. I dont know what else to provide. Also, I had enough $ in my account. Is there a minimum $ they are looking for? Also, I am willing to use your services, if it can get him the visa. Please let me know. I can contact you personally.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks

There is no minimum to show in terms of funds at your end. If that's the only reason for refusal, he can ask the embassy to reconsider by providing what the embassy has requested [i.e. further financial details].

Worse come to worse, he has to re-apply and this time you would provide the 'further financial info' they are asking ... if they can tell you what exactly it is.

What did your brother-in-law tell officer about the purpose of visit? Hope it wasn't vacation/tourism because that will appear "fishy" leaving wife and kid behind to go on vacation alone.

Also, your income and saving details will affect the decision. I know people whose relatives visa got rejected even though they have steady job and income but not enough saving to show ability to handle the extra burden.

Take these observations with a grain of salt ... I am not connected with immigration profession in any shape or form.

Actually, he did say "visiting his sister and her family" in Toronto. Are there other, better reasons to give?

Thanks to all
