I am thinking to move from toronto to ottawa.

Anybody can advise me to where to settle in ottawa?

I am going to work around 555 Legget drive, Ottawa. We have one car and usually I am going to drive it. My wife has to go to job in bus or ride.

My wife has to look for Job in some comany thorugh Agencies OR stores while her english is not really very good.

I have following questions about ottawa:

1) Where are the rental apartments near to 555 legget drive?
2) Is it easy to find a job for my wife around 555 legget drive?

3) Where can my wife find a job easily?
4) Where are the most Gujarati Community living and how far it is from 555 legget drive?
5) What about Bus Service in ottawa? My wife can easily get Ride for Job as Toronto OR it is difficult?

6) What is the approx. rent for 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartment?
7) 1 year lease is necessary for renting an apartment? Overall how is the apartment maintainance service in Ottawa?

8) Which apartment building are you suggesting me to rent?
We prefer near to Job and Gujarati Community.

1) Where are the rental apartments near to 555 legget drive?

--- Get an apt. close to Bayshore Mall. It is not a walking dist from the Legget drive - which is an office area - but certainly close (driving distance).
I would suggest Sunview Apt. (Carling and Greenview) The apt is not that great, but the location is very good. Bus stop is right downstairs, walking distance from : the Bayshore mall, Desi grocery (Vaishali) and desi restaurant, walmart, Loeb (cdn grocery) and the Lincon Heights bus terminal.

The Ottawa River Park is also opposite to this apt, which is very nice. Bus service to Legget drive is very good from this apt. (Morning time express service).

2) Is it easy to find a job for my wife around 555 legget drive?

--- Depends on her area of expertise.

3) Where can my wife find a job easily?

--- See my answer above.

4) Where are the most Gujarati Community living and how far it is from 555 legget drive?

-- Do not know. Ask Vaishali Grocery store guy. He is Gujju and very friendly to Gujjus.

5) What about Bus Service in ottawa? My wife can easily get Ride for Job as Toronto OR it is difficult?

-- Bus service in Ottawa is too good.

6) What is the approx. rent for 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartment?

-- Do not know the recent rates.

7) 1 year lease is necessary for renting an apartment? Overall how is the apartment maintainance service in Ottawa?

--- 1 year lease required at many places. The apt staff/maintenance is ok ("so-so"


8) Which apartment building are you suggesting me to rent?

-like cdn_dude said you can find appt in bayshore area without any problem n area is good too for desis/immigrants. evenrything is nearby from bayshore area. i used to live in bayshore area n work at legget drive. i used to drive there n it's hardly 15 min drive from bayshore area.

-well therez mainly IT offices on legget drive. if your wife is ok with english she can get job in dell call center or another one is Sitel.

-i'm sure there will be lots of gujjus at legget drive but not living there bcoz its not commercial area. like cdn_dude said vaishali is gujju n he might know more gujjus in the area.

-for ottawa bus service, let me tell you that ottawa bus service is one of the best bus service in N. America

-well i left bayshore area about an year ago n we were paying around $850 for 2 bedroom.

-yes lease is necessary, we use to live in donview n maintainace service was xcellent.

-i will for sure suggest you donview or any building near it.

you have to talk to minto rental service. they have office in bayshore and have lots of other rental buildings. i can get you the rental office number if you want.
