Hi Laksa: Can you give me some details of this direct pay method/card? I was checking the TATA AIG website and what they have given indicates one will need to get some form from them, get doc's signature in it and then submit with all receipts for reimbursement.

My personal opinion dont get Travel Insurance from India. My Parents bought Travel Protecter Plus (no wonder what kind of fancy words these companies use) from a company called Iffco-Tokio (never heard of this company) my dad while he was here had to get his eye check up. I claimed for the insurance based on the form they had provided with their stupid package. Till now we havnt got any money for our claim. I have made numerous phone calls to them plus emails following up our claim they always say the its under process we are trying to contact the doctor but its unreachable etc. We have asked him to fill the form about the possible medical emergency form. They are just kind of delaying the matter. They are asking me to contact the doctor to fill the forms for them. It seems the medical bills for them are not enough they want the explaination of medical treatment to get filled by a medical practioner which they dont have any forms it only comes up after you have submitted the claim with all the bills to them. There is hardly any clarity in their policies. I just gave up for a claim of 200$bucks i dont intend to make and appointment of docter and pay another 60$ for nothing asking him to fill the forms for insurance company these companies are all crooks.
I would rather get a travel insurance from a local company whereever someone is travaling weather its Canada or US. It makes the dealing much simpler.

I would like to take a health insurance for my husband for 4 month since our ohip need to renew due to long stay out of toronto. He had an heart attack and angio plasty is done only he need to take some medicine for long time. I would like to have it only for emergency since I will bring all the requier medicine with me.
do emergency accept the patient if need.
If it's taken from india do they cover medicine because in dubai they don't provide insurance for the previous history of sickeness.
thank u

I think the same logic works for all other insurance companies. No insurance company in Canada or anywhere in the world would cover for preexisting medical conditions.

Hi I have my parents on visit and I have paid 7.15$ per day for their insurance.

I have coverage for 50,000C$ with a 50$ deductable and with follow up visits. Make sure about follow up visits as the insurance companies dont tell you that and the 2nd time you go to the doctor for the same thing you don't get reimbursed.

If anyone else has something cheaper with similar coverage please let me know as I have to renew as well as my parents have extended their stay for 4 more months.

Hello

My mother is visiting us soon and was wondering if any one whose parents came in recently can share their experience of getting the visitors medical plan. It is all very confusing to me in the Canadain plans ( I have not checked with my brother on the plans in India). I got two quotes Blues Cross - 9.25 per day and Manulife approx 7.60 per day.

I saw a post of Tata AIG " Company pays to hospital". Any feed back on that?

Thanks.
