The information I'm sharing here is based on a tamil magazine called Junior Vikatan. It is a weekly magazine which is sold on bookstores like the The National Enquirer.
It is known for its sensationilism !.
It has been reported that the current Chief Minister of Andhrapradesh Mr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy who is a converted Evangelical christian, has given a large chunk of land at Tirumala-Tirupati to a evangelical church to build a church. It has been reported that off late there are many evangelical meetings and prayers held at the site. There are many evangelical preachers at these locations like the bus stop, paan shop handing over bit notice/invitations to people who are visiting the temple and inviting them to the prayer meetings and many times they are said to be inviting people by saying \"what good would get out of praying to a stone, when you can pray to our true god !\".
The other information given was that about 40 important officers in the TTD-Thirumala Tirupati Devasthonam Board have converted to evangelical christianity but not reported the same to the board, as they will be sacked as the rules of the board is clear that only hindus can hold office in this board.
Balaji please save yourself in this secular country before you become history in this cyber world.

Hindus are living in a country where they have paid a special tax called JIZYA under the Moghal rule for beeing and practicing Hinduism . This is the price Hindus have to pay for living under the Christian( Please read secularist) rule.

There was a show on Benny Hinn's programme (This is your day ! CTV) 12 months back when the chief minister's son-in-law (a Christian Evangelist) was interviewed. The son in law talked about christians and christianity in India . This also prompted Benny Hinn to choose Hyderabad as a venue for his proposed massive crusade in Hyderabad around Dec. 10th. of this year. I am sure that the Son-in-law and the Chief minister of AP will be there at his crusade like when Deva Gowda was at the Benny Hinn's crusade at Bangalore.

Sidenote to DesiRaja-> DesiRaja, This has reference to your post in the next page where you said that i used the word "Benny Hinn's crusade". I actually donot know the full meaning of crusade. What i was telling the forum is the term that they used on TV and is not what i said.

hindusim does not seek to promote itself and does not try to convert others.
infact in india, hindus are prime targets for conversion due to the freedom enjoyed by other minority religions

I fully support the right of various swamies, sects and gurus to spread the tenets of Hinduism in the west. e.g: Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Hinduism is the 5th largest religious group in America with 1.5 million people . If we include Canada the number is closer to 2 million. It would be awesome to see this number grow especially because of the all-inclusive/tolerant nature of Hinduism which is very much in line with secular values. Infact most new-age movements borrow heavily from Hinduism(and its offshoots).
Its my personal belief that anyone **capable** of really understanding hinduism would not convert to any other religion.
A secular country and citizenry should have the freedom to choose their own religion be it Islam, Christianity, Hinduism or whatever. Similarly one should have the right to evangalize/convert/proselytize thru non-violent/non-forcible means. Let individuals decide which ideology is better suited to their needs as no one religion is ideal for each and every person. Yes there are going to be unscrupulous swamis, clerics and clergymen who are going to take advantage of people and mislead people but that is another issue.
At the same time it does seem to be equally unscrupulousthat any Evangelical Christian convert would be covertly on a board that is based on hindu religious agenda. If true they should quit...or be made to.
