Quote:

As for the infant for whom i am responsible, I am looking for a baby sitter who will baby sit just this infant and not do baby sitting for 4 or 5 children at a time, since this Infant is very fussy and the person looking after this infant has to be holding the infant the whole time so that it will not cry.

You must be the first father who I have heard / write about one's own child as 'it'. :D :D Come on, say my son or daughter.

Secondly, my advise is never to keep a child in day care. My wife left her job because the day my son was attending to was not able to 'care' for my son. Over a period of approx. 10 months I saw that my son lost weight, was malnourished and became very cranky. This is a very reputed name I am talking of. Right now I am in a situation where my salary barely meets my monthly expenditure. But even then I would never ever put my son in a day care. They SUCK.

Well, where as I do not have much information to provide on this topic (my both infants are grown up now), it was really hard to make from your posts if the infant in question is yours. The following clues might help…

…If I give a highlighter (with cover on) to the infant, the infant stays calm, sucking the high lighter for 1 hour. Then if the infant gets restless, I change it with a tri-angular scale which the infant duly puts in the mouth…I give the infant Cheese bits pricked on to a gem clip…I do not allow the infant to get off the stroller …this Infant is very fussy…If you know some baby sitters who can baby sit this kind of infant in your building, please contact me. I do not want to leave the infant to a baby sitter, to have them call me after some hours saying that they can not handle such an infant…

CD members,
An update on the situation.
Since the last baby sitter abandoned us on friday evening, we were shell schocked. Me and an Adult female even thought of returning back to India. Luckily, Babuji of this forum, counselled us and gave us some contacts. Another lady , near our house also helped us. First we were given reference to a lady from the land of Africa. We surveyed the house and found that the atmosphere would not be conducive to infants. Next , we went to a white Canadian's house where the atmoshphere looked good but the only drawback was that they have 2 bull dogs + 1 cat. The lady said that she has not had one incident for the past 5-6 years. The fee is $200 a week with food provided. Time is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and there is a fine of $1 a minute late. Since she is Canadian she is very careful about the term and consitions. She has 2 rooms for babies and the dogs and cat will play with infants / children. She is a Single mom. We have to pay for holidays and 50% of fees if the baby is sick. Sick children will not be admitted. This lady is currently caring for a 2 year old and a 3 year old (all native cdn's and male). I hope the infant female can improve her english / accent with these people.

Their activity is like this : (For information for new CD's)

8:30 - drop in
8:45-9:15 - > snacks
9:15-12 noon -> Travel to Park, Drop in centre, Lake, Play time (depends on the weather)
12:00 noon to 1:00 pm - > Lunch time
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm -> Sleep time
3:00 pm to 3:30 pm -> snack time
3:30 pm to 5:15 pm -> story telling time, fun time, Play time
5:15 pm to 5:30 pm -> Drop out time by parents

We have decided to try this lady and hope that it will work out.
My special thanks for Aashu too for providing us with a reference whom we will contact and ask for their term and conditions.
I also advise people , prospecting for a day care to start their search in advance and to try the baby sitter be fore a month (on and off) of actual leaving to accustom the baby/ infant to the day care provider.
TK A

Sidenote : We tried a CD's classified advt. (the only one available for Etobicoke south) and there has been no response to a voice mail as yet.

Further sidenote : The CD classified person in South Etobicoke contacted us and offered to do the Daycare. They have had experience with running a private day care in the Gulf. Unfortunately we had to refuse since we have already fixed the cdn. lady near our house.

Aashu,
for the benefit of CD people, I am making this info. public.
The White Cdn. is at Royal York/Lakeshore and the Indian (Goa) is at 427-Ratburn (Etobicoke Civic centre).
The Goan lady's rate for daycare is $150 a week, food incl.. She is moving to a new townhouse in a month nearby. Right now she is in an apt.. She has experience in Daycare in Muscat.
Hope this helps.
In CD clasified's there are 3 or 4 addresses in North Etobicoke near Martin Grove/Albion.
Hope this helped someone.
TK A
Sidenote : Personally i like professional day care run by White canadians or Private daycare run by White Canadians. They are very sincerely devoted to the job/ child etc.... I saw today how they handled the infant today. They were so loving and spoke always in good english. The infant can learn good english very fast in this way
